From what Ian can make out there is no visual scaring suggesting the pistons have blown to bits but you never can tell..... tis one hell of a job as you need an engine hoist etc.... Ian used work for Saab so he knows a bit about cars and has always fixed them himself unless he has tried and is then gets beyond him.

Fingers crossed..... we have decided to borrow the In Laws car for the next trip up :thumbsup:

I must say the whole thread was a bit like an England football match.

A massive, exciting build-up and then BANG--nothing

Seriously though I'm glad nothing terrible happened, must of been quite a scary experience. Good luck in your next attempt. Can't wait to see some pics
