I've lost count of the number of years we've been going back to Scotland for our summer hols, but they never fail to disappoint, even when it rains :- "

Well, I had high hopes of some good weather as it was lovely and sunny on our first day there.

Here are some photos of where we stayed:

Stan wasn't too sure at first...he didn't like the wooden floors :- "

Fred watching us unpack..

Fred sunbathing....he was at home in no time. Stan watched from a safe distance :p

The next two days were cloudy but warm...still no rain :sweating: We made the most of it by doing some hill walking. Most of the walks started in Forestry Commission woodland......a bit creepy

Finally out onto the tops.....some good views to be had:

Stopping for a brew...Fred looks on:

Tea's made and poured..Fred puts his feet up (on my fleece :- " ):

Day 2 - another day, another hill walk :sweating: Pausing for a rest...

I quite liked this one the OH took of mucky bearded Stan, with Fred in the background :)

We then ran out of luck, and the weather closed in...

However, we made it to the top, and I had to take a photo of this little plaque on a cairn at the top of Ben Ledi:

From hereonin most of the photos take on a bit of a wet theme :- "

We resorted to lower level walks around lochs.... :))

One thing we did see a lot of was waterfalls....hardly surprising with all that rain.... :- "

Hope you enjoyed.....let's hope for some drier weather soon

After spending most of the day in DIY shops Nicola today.....those photos are like sheer heaven..

Lock Earn looks so tranquil...beautiful scenery and the wooden lodge where you stayed looks just great.

Thanks for sharing those..

Lovely photos ... looks like the perfect holiday with dogs. Would you mind PM-ing me the contact details for the lodge where you stayed if you still have them handy?

glad you got a bit of dry weather in to start with, the log chalet looks great and the scenery is beautiful, I wouldn't mind the details of the log chalet too if poss !

Funny, little Stan taking his time to get used to the wooden floor, but typical of Fred, a whippet to find a comfy spot and settle straight in.

We've just been out with Ella and came across a little Stan, though he was really solid in the body......obviously doesn't do all the hill walking your Stan does :D

Thanks everyone. I'll pm the details to those that have asked in the week.

Stan looks like a miniature 'Monarch of the Glen' there doesn't he (minus the antlers)? :)

Some lovely picture there Nicola - I'm finding it hard to choose a favourite! :- " Like your waterfall pictures and the views. I think the ones of Mick and Stan are really sweet. And trust a whippet to find a comfy fleece to put his feet up on! :huggles:

Lovely pics as always Nicola. It looks a lovely peaceful place, the waterfalls look as though they were in full flow, WOW, what force (w00t)

Glad you had a nice time :D

Super pics  - really loved the ones of Stan and OH having a bit of a love-in - very sweet! :huggles:

Haven't been to Loch Earn for years, brought back lovely memories. We all loved our holiday in Ardnamurchan this year, and definitely want to go back to Scotland again with the children. Didn't take Zephyr though, don't think his feet would have coped with the very rocky paths on the hills! :sweating:

Looks gorgeous there, I love the chalet you stayed in, it looks quite Swiss.

The pics of the waterfall and loch are beautiful.

Hi Beth. I did wonder how you enjoyed your holiday. What did you get to see?

I was a bit worried about Fred too this year, but he did really well. He wanted to come along on all our walks; never refused to carry on, seemed quite content as long as he got some rests along the way. We were mainly walking in The Trossachs (not so far to travel either), where the hills are more heather clad and lined with conifers. No real rocky paths thanks goodness, and no Munros climbed this year. :sweating:
