The ad is gone now. If memory serves they were in Norfolk. Does anyone have any news on these two little souls?

Ok, here is what is happening.
Basically as ive said Rescue just dont have that kind of money £2000 for the 2.

Its a difficult situation as if they get that kind of money & feather their cap its just going to continue as there are more there.

On the other hand the dogs deserve a proper loving home NOT to be sold as a pair of "breeding machines"

They WONT negotiate & accept less than £2000.

Theyhave been offered an alternative & we are waiting for a reply although i wont hold my breath  :- "

What do you do?  :(

Looks like the pup advertised at £1500 has gone, where we dont know  :(

The last resort will be to see if we can get some kind of donation to get them out.

Will keep you posted

Are these dogs actually in danger? I will probably not be liked for this but I am happy to donate money to 'rescue' a dog who is living in a bad situation ect but not to line the pockets of a greedy seller, I think it encourages unscrupulous people to charge top whack when people like us actually rally round and try to pay it, just my honest oppinion.

This is in no way aimed at iggies this is my general feeling it is coming to the point where we will be buying all dogs that show up on Epupz as if they are in need of rescuing when they are just for sale and not coming from a bad home in the first place,I understand that this is sometimes the case and I would be the first to help and I in no way condone what this person is doing just for the record :)

Sorry if my oppinion offends :huggles:

NO your opinion doesn't offend at all, you are infact quite right

NO one wants to line the pockets of greedy sellers like this at all, which is why Rescue even if they had of had the money, which they dont, would have still been reluctant to do.

The more they sell at these kind of prices, the more they will continue to breed.

Its difficult to know what to do as it is bad enough for ANY breed to be advertised as a "breeding pair" let alone a specialist breed like IG's.

She never got back to Rescue so i guess she either sold them or couldn't find anyone stupid enough to pay those kind of prices & will eventuall re-advertise them at perhaps a cheaper rate.

looks like the same lot selling iggies again on epupz.

I've only just logged on after a long time gone but I think I can add a liitle to this. I contacted the owner and tried to buy the pair for £500 but she wanted a LOT more for them, from what I could gather not specifically to go together. She said that change of work habit forced sale, but my feeling is that she was looking for money and that the loving home came a poor second. The charity tried to get hold of them but with no success so now the Lord alone knows where these poor babies have ended up, I just hope that they have gone to someone who will love and care for them and not use them as cash cows,we've onlyjust managed to get rid of one of those type of people and don't want them replaced!

poor dogs it is so sad to here about them i never saw the ad but it sounds dreadful

i am glad houseofhanjy did try to make an buy them for £500 and everyone else is caring, it is nice to see that there are still people in the world who don't care about crabing money! poor dogs :(

Hi Folks,

Wow I have read some stories but this beats the lot. I have to say I am a Whippet person but have loved IG for ages. I found that site and it really disgust's me to see how low people can get to make money. They say money is the root of all evil and in this case it is very true. I usually give my dogs as pets. I think how can anyone put a price on a life. I do hope these dogs find a kind home and are not exploited like this so called breeder is doing now. One question if I may be so bold to ask. What is the average price of a IG and who should I be looking to for advice about this fantastic breed.

Once again I wish you well in trying to get hold of these dogs if anyone can start a fund going to rescue these dogs I would contribut.

Mike
