well what a night
after Grace spent most of yesterday evening in full flow labour and no puppies  my vet told me to pop her in for a jab to move things along abit
well 45 mins later we should have had puppies popping out all over but nothing, not even so much as a push
with that next thing dad and i knew is she was on the table legs akimbo :b with dad and I on standby to help with the pups as they popped out with the help of my wonderful vet Stephen (its actually very frightening watching your dog undergo an emergency C Sec    )
once he had opened her up :x it was clear that Grace was never going to be able to pass these little loves so im happy he acted as fast as he did (as he said otherwise i would of been going in to remove pups that didnt make it) having 100% faith in your vet gives you such confidence
right, so here's dad and I armed with towels as the 1st pup came out  i can honestly say i thought i was going to have a heart attack, that little pups life in my hands trying to get it going  out of the 6 only 2 seemed alittle flat, but my dad bless him worked on those pups to get them screaming (w00t) Pa peppermint.....is there no end to his talent...odd jobs...race trainer...my dad...best grandad in the world and now midwife
poor mum and June both waiting by theirs phones for news, time must of stood still for them!
after all this the ordeal was not over for grace as she seemed to lose alot of blood, we had to wait at the vets to determin if this was just what was laying in the uterus or if she had a bleed.....if it was the 2nd option then she would have been going under the knife once again to be speyed , the bleeding got to a point when Stephen was happy to send her home with me keeping a close eye on her, if bleeding continued then she would be going back in when the surgery opens...im happy to say she seems fine and has been for a wee this morning.
you know i will never look at grace in the same way again, shes a champion in my eyes  been through a major ordeal, comes home half knocked out to have me trying to hang 6 puppies off her boobs, and her mothering instinct just took over :'( brought tears to my eyes, i got to bed at 3.30am but got up again at 5.30am, and managed to check on my new family in between time (not sure i got any sleep)
i will just upload a couple of pics and add them to this thread, we have 2 cream or white (not sure yet) girls, a dark fawn girl with a mask, a blue fawn girl, a dark fawn boy with a mask and a blue fawn boy...most have either white on their toes or chest...all are feeding well and Grace is now AMAZING GRACE.
