Meet 14year old Whiz and 13 year old Annie. Their mum had to go into care and the poor things were in kennels for 2 weeks.

They soon settled in here though!! Whiz is quite well for his years but Annie has a couple of unpleasant lumps and a severe heart murmur. She has been put on medication, so hopefully it will help her. They will stay here as long as it takes to find a new home.

Other than the fact that their hearing is going they are remarkably well, I have to keep them on extending leads when we are out, I tried them off in a safe place and it was hilarious - Annie eats and then rolls in cow poo, she stunk to high heaven, but she had a wonderful time!! Neither of them had any intention of going back on the lead, they seemed to take the opinion that they were old so had every right to be as disreputable as they wanted!!!

Annie loves to sleep next to me but whiz is happy with the bed on the floor.

They are a delight to have, I am not in any hurry for them to go anywhere!!

Good for you Julie, giving these two OAP's chance,

they deserve a bit of second puppyhood and all that entails (including poo rolling)

They look a pair of characters. 8) I bet for lots of people these OAPs remind them of a special whippy OAP of their own. They are so gentle and precious in their twilight years.

absolutly, oldies sit there all quiet like, then do something unexpectedly naughty and have the cheekiest mischevious look about them when they do,

i could always see the pup i knew in my old boys eye's when he pinched something and trotted off with it

it's that indiscribeable sparkle :)

Awww too cute - oldies are just irresistable, even the toughest of people would have to be stone hearted to turn those pair away.

My oldie Kit is 13 1/2 and she is still a little sod when she wants to be, i come home from work many a time with only her with the run of the house and she's emptied the contents of the bin all over the floor and stands there looking as if to say "now would i?" o:)
