ruby and star were playing in the garden and one of them yelped, but they both got up and continued on playing, wasnt till couple of mins later that we notice they both had a fair bit of blood on them

anyway we have brought them in and on inspection it seems that ruby has bit stars ear and star has pulled away, causing a 3mm split right at the end :(

it seems to have stopped bleeding and she doesnt seem to bothered but should we take her to the vet? or can we do anything to fix it?

ill try get a pic in a min.

thanks

Dont need the vets Katie, do what Kelly says and star will be ok

:sweating: :sweating: we've have bathed it an it has stopped bleeding, and it doesnt look quite as bad :sweating:

cant believe how much blood came out of it the 2 of them looked like they sprayed, and once we got it clean she shook her head and covered everything again :sweating:

thanks for the advice :huggles: :huggles:

they do bleed dont they i remember when it first happened to angel i was convinced she was going to die with the amount of blood on her  when i did eventually clean her up and saw the size of the cut i was amazed

Logan split his ear once. He managed to spray it all up the walls in as many rooms as possible! (w00t) Ears are full of veins and bleed very easily. Fortunately, it usually looks far worse than it is. Star will be fine. :huggles:

Awww poor Star :huggles: Kiss it better for her

I'd just keep an eye on it for a day or so to make sure it isn't getting infected and I'm sure it'll be healed up before you know it  Just another war wound for the wee girl :p

Hope Star's ear heels quickly, I'm sure it will.

Give them both :huggles: from us.

Sonia and Jesse xx

Hope Star is feeling better this morning. Flipping dogs are nutters! Yesterday Pax went stampeding accross the garden and knocked Bridget clean off her feet making her yowl.

I am thinking of getting a herd of cattle to run around the house next, lol.

Give Star a hug from me... :huggles: Im sure it will be the first of many knowing what whippets are like... :- "

hope she heals well. :huggles:

smudge done the same to grace a while ago  ...it was like a blood bath  , greces healed on its own in no time at all, it was only a tiny knick...hope shes better soon  :huggles:

Glad to hear Star is ok and didn't need any treatment :huggles: . Blood generally makes things look worse than they are I think.

Wouldn't wash it too much. The cut needs to dry out so that it will heal. Washing it could cause it to open up again. Best left alone really.
