It is with a hugely heavy heart that I had to say farewell to the very first Whippet I ever owned. She was 12 and a half and unfortunately she was having very bad fits for the last few years and the last one she just didnt recover from.
She was the first Whippet I owned soley, I did most of my Junior Handling competions with her by my side, the bigger the ring the bigger her ego was, winning the KCJO Hound Group 2 years in a row at Crufts. She also won her stud book number at the Paighton Show under Terry Thorn, it was a very large class as I can remember it like it was yesterday.
Good things come in small packages and she only stood around 17.5"-18" at the shoulder but was a large dog in her head, she ruled the Akitas!
All of her offspring have taken on her level head and showmanship and ive not had a litter yet that hasnt produced at least one "blueish kinda brindly colour", she was an amazing animal....
RIP Nellie, im missing you already xx
