Your Indy looks lovely, we've a bitch from Lilly's litter previous to yours, Ella born 28 4 05 and she is the most gentle, mild and cuddly dog I've ever known, and very pretty , but of course we're biased on that view  :- " Where about in the country are you ?

All the best for tomorrow from sister jill

View attachment 40537rumour looks well....wish the roonster got the big white front socks..maybe will see you at crufts...roo is in junior dog...but maynot go yet as hes not been well and lost some weight...gunna feed him the sausage diet and see if i can get some on...heres a pic of Roo at Manchester champ show where he won junior dog.

Please, please tell me what is the 'Sausage diet'. sound interesting.

i have always found it hard to keep/put weight on Roo...i think its his type. he always shows most of his ribs. Ive tried everything but have found that chip shop jumbo sausages mixed in with his usual diet seem to do the trick...seems to do his coat some good too...it gets very slick........in general though he's a very fussy eater, he just picks at it..circles it etc...is that common?........i watched a staffy eat its food the other day and was shocked...

I feed my dogs the BARF diet Rooney..... Tripe is great for putting weight onto dogs, and my dogs are never fussy eaters.

have a look in the FAQ section - there are lots of tips and hints on feeding there.

Rooney is only young isn't he ? they don't seem to fill out 'til about 18 mths, our Veredon is a fussy eater and her brother, but they do eat better when together, so there's a lot to be said for dining with a friend, seems to give them a better appetite !

Just in case this is any use to you and your pup. Our pup who's now 8 months old was a very fussy eater... we tried every type of dog food, cat food, tuna, sardines etc she would eat something one day and then eat nothing the next. She was really beginning to get us worried :( .

Just by chance I bought cheap mince in the reduced section from the supermarket one night and I thought I'd try her with that. I fried it up and added a cup of rice, a couple of chopped carrots and some water to cook the rice. She ate two whole bowls of the stuff straight off, and she ate it the next day too with no complaints  ! So now that's what she gets... I buy the value mince (beef and pork, lamb) from the frozen section and a bag of frozen mixed veg and cook up a big pot of it with rice, it keeps in the fridge for days. I give her a portion twice a day and add some hot water to warm it up. I'm not sure whether this is giving her everything she needs nutritionally, I'm going to have to get some advice on that soon but she is looking well on it and it must be better than her eating nothing.

Hope you find something that Rooney likes that'll save you a trip to the chip shop

Oh and he's very handsome too  !

Julie

Hi Julie my dad feeds his lot on the same mince and dry meal. Though i dont cause it tends to blow keano up. I just feed Keano on the dry stuff got him on greyhound mix at the moment and about twice a week i stick in a tin of sardines.

Rooney's brother Logan is also skinny but then they're not even 18 months yet and Veredons tend to be slow to mature. I feed mine the BARF diet and Logan will eat anything and everything in sight! Offer him just plain biscuits and he looks at you as though you're mad!

please let me know which s'market you get the frozen mince from....asda dont do it....ended up buying him some £3 lamb chops.....i'll be on his left overs...lol
