all that back leg is bruising now and hes reluctant to put his foot down :(

going to the vets later this afternoon so going to get him some stronger pain killers too.

I use Aloe vera for cuts as well, I think arnica works for bruises but if they are deep it tends to make it worse before it gets better. :huggles: for Kiplin the poor boy.

I use Aloe-vera straight from my plant on wounds. I just cut the tip off a spike and squeeze the jell out - I use it on my own skin (if I'm stupid enough to fall over!). I also use neat lavendar oil (just a little) on the dogs' wounds because it stops them licking, is antiseptic and seems to aid healing quite effectively.

I use homeopathic arnica for bruising and very gentle massage.

When Mac fell down from the car (he tried to jump in when the door was shut. Idiot...) He had some bruises on his chest and tummy. I rubbed it with Hirudoid and it was gone in a couple of days!

I use the same as you but also use "cut heal" it is a really great thing to have in the first aid cupboard as it really speeds up the healing process and is available in most forms. I am not too sure if you can buy it in a pet store I have always bought mine from our local tackshop as it was always something we used on the horses as they were forever nicking & bruising themselves but I do know it is available on the internet if you "google" it and I've also seen it on EBAY.

Poor wee Kip,it does look so painful, sending him lots of very gentle :huggles: and hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. :luck:

well what another day weve had  our luck should change soon or i hope it will, had to take kiplin back to the vet 30mins ago because two of his stiches came out ,one the other day and the other earlier, and the wound opened up :x anyway hes had a couple of staples put in and hopefully it will knit together again if not its back to theatre for him :( so got everything crossed :luck:

couldnt believe on our walk this afternoon that molly was going crazy like usual and i noticed blood all over her foot  i thought not another mad dash to the vets :sweating: :sweating: :sweating: luckily she as managed to rip her claw out and the blood was flowing well but soon stopped,im getting paranoid now of these dogs of mine  ;)

Gosh Trish, you are having a bad time with the dogs at the moment.

So he now has staples in ...poor lad hes been through it...and now you say Molly and her claw. (w00t) what are they like. Im sending you all some hugs.. :huggles:

I think you need to stay indoors for a few days and chill out... :huggles: :huggles:

Sending best wishes to Kiplin and also Molly :)

I have found COMFREY OINTMENT excellent when applied to bruising but not over broken skin. It is also used for sprains, fractures and broken legs. I obtain my jar of comfrey from the chemist, not sure if it is available in the UK but it is readily available in Australia. :luck:
