Hi all
our whippet girl was bitten by a pit bull at the week end. She was in great pain and shock at the time and screamed for what felt a long time. She has recovered now and the wound is closing slowly but is still quite stiff on her side (bruised ribs?).
Unfortunately on two occasions whilst distracted my OH forgot about her injury and held her where her wound is. Both time she yelped in great pain and turned back to bite him. It did not draw any blood but it was still painful to him.
The dog was shaking afterwards and my OH felt terrible (especially second time). We cuddled the dog afterwards and did not either ignore her or tell her off as we thought there was enough bad feelings around.
Would you tolerate such circumstances or do you consider biting under any cicumstances totally unacceptable?
She is getting better now.
