Had a great afternoon at Belle Vue today trialing the whippets to give them a run before we race there on the 26th November, The staff were realy helpfull during the trials and then supplied complimentary food & drinks afterwards.

Before their trials the dogs were looked over by the track vet and given a clean bill of health to take part in the trials.

The dogs went round in 2 dog trials today.

The Hcp for the Whippet Race on the 26th is as follows.

Here is the trap draw & hcp for the Whippet Race at Belle Vue.

T1 = Pennymeadow Poppy 15mtr

T2 = Parkstone Lucky Charm 14mtr

T3 = Pennymeadow Pepe 11mtr

T4 = Parkstone True Blue 10mtr

T5 = Niisyf Oto 3mtr

T6 = Niisyf Otis Scr

Niisyf Ottis has got to be favourit for this race after setting the Track Record for a whippet racing at Belle Vue at 18.22

The Racing Manager had never seen whippet racing before and after the trialling commented on how well all the dogs had run and that he was impressed by their keeness.

Just recieved confermation that the Whippet Race at Belle view on the 26th November is to be run at 9pm.

Here is a piece from the Belle View owners forum

The BVOF is pleased to announce that the sponsorship of the Whippet Race by the Forum this coming Saturday has been confirmed with the management of Belle Vue Stadium.
The winners cheque for ?100 will be made out to the RGT Manchester Branch and donated in accordance with the wishes of the owners of the dogs taking part.

The plans are that the race will be run in the middle of the card with a start time of 9.00pm (approx).

All are asked to come along if at all possible and see a bit of history in the making, and the RGT will be running a "Tote" at a special bookies joint stood next to the soft drink machines next to Walmsley Bros.
The winning owner will also recieve a £50 free Bet with JPDoyle 1 of Belle Views Bookies and they will be paid out at the winning odds (the winner of this keeps the winnings) "or buys a good round of drinks Becka" :thumbsup:

The owners forum are currently trying to secure people to carry out the trophy presentations (i'll post more if/when we get details)

The managment have also confermed they will give us all a copy of the Race so if anyone wants a copy 9as well as sue :thumbsup: PM me)

hi mark, you will have to let us all know where we are going to meet up on saturday night. Lets make it somewhere simple though mate, as we may have had a couple of pints :cheers:

Did you say the first two drinks are on you ?? :- "

All the owners are meeting at mine then traveling down together then were not arriving seperate as they need to open the gates for us to get the vans into the track.

We should be there abouit 6.45pm then we can get the dogs settled and then get a drink.

do the dogs need 2 people each with them , one to trap and one to catch?

Hi Becka,

no each dog only need 1 person to parade/trap/catch it, the trip (finishing point) is about 40yds in front of the traps so once you trap your dog it's a nice easy stroll to the pick up point, and you'll see the whole race clearly.

it's a nice easy stroll to the pick up point,

Erm Excuse me how do you know its a nice easy stroll, :- " Me & Jeff had to run faster than the whippets. (w00t)
