Poor Wilf & Misty, savaged by a bullmastiff cross

Dave walked the dogs on Friday morning, he had them all on the leash when the dog came at them. Poor Wilf came off worst with thirteen stitches to his leg & side :( Dave's quick thinking in slipping Misty saved their lives, Misty ran for her life & the dog followed.

Misty now has a couple of staples in her side, & Gypsy was saved from having her neck ripped out by her collar. Wilf is just starting to feel a little better tonight, but some of the wound is still weeping, they are back at the vets in the morning. Misty is our little hero, she ran so hard & fast that she took all her nails right down so they were all bleeding :(

:( how horrible for all of you. Having been attacked ourselves last week (not as horrible as yours by a long shot!!) I can imagine how you must be feeling.

Hope your dogs heal quickly and are feeling better soon :luck:

I was so sorry to hear about this Diane. It must have been so distressing for you. Well done Misty, and to Dave for being so quick off the mark. I really wish you all a swift recovery, physicaly and psychologically. Kindest regards Jo x

How aweful about your dog being attacked :( hope they are all feeling better. Best wishes for a quick recovery. :luck: :luck:

I hate irresponsible dog owners, I had a whippet 'Chip' attacked by a staffy in 2000, so know what it feels like.

Hi Jac, Wilf must be feeling better he has been trying to fight with Digby :D

Josh has tried to post pics of Wilf, but the pc is playing up. Will try again tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about this horrible attack. We wish your dogs the speediest recovery - glad to hear Wilfy is recovering though.

OMG I'm so sorry. That is so scary.

:huggles: to you and the dogs.

I was so sorry to read of these attacks and hope for a speedy recovery with no lasting effects. I have never had this experience but when out am mindful that not all dogs we meet are friendly and tend to give other dogs a wide birth. If attacked I would hope to do as you did , let go the lead and hope my dog runs away from the trouble. Good luck and best wishes to you all.

I know Diane and Dave have been through a really tough time with little Wilfy, went to see them Friday night and he was quite poorly :( Neve gave him lots of tlc to help him settle a little  Poor little Misty aswell what a star  Hopefully it will be a quick and speedy recovery, especially as Wilf as now started to torment poor Diggers again lol :luck: One thing I know I certainly will be walking a different way to Diane's from now on!

Ouch! That looks nasty. Poor Wilfy. Hope he gets better soon.

what happened with the dog?? did the owner stick around? will they pay the vets bills?

Very nasty pictures, i hope things heal well and they are all back out for walks with out being to scared.

Best Wishes

so sorry to here about your dogs a few years ago my two whippets were attacked by a collie/cross outside the house i slipped their leads and they ran into house followed by the dog,one of my.dogs suffered similar damage to poor wilfy.as this was on a Sunday i had to call out my vet,he was fantastic one i have used for around twenty years,he contacted police & also refused payment from me at the time, as i knew the dog who had carried out this attack (it had done the same to another dog before) owner said she would pay vet bill, she never did result was a court case, she then had to pay vets fee and her dog to be on a lead and muzzled at all times when it was out of the house :: .

gosh that looks awful - poor wilfy :huggles:

i know i go on about Dij being aggressive - but he's not on that scale! he barks and snaps but i've never seen him look set to cause that kind of damage!

amazes me how owners can turn a blind eye to what their dogs are capable of, i feel bad enough about Dij's behaviour - if i thought he would do that i wouldn't even be thinking about getting him to the point of free running again :(

Poor poor Wilf :( lots of well wishes from us for a very speedy recovery for Wilf and Misty :huggles: :luck: :luck: :luck:
