she should be ok for some light lamping, dont try and break any records or try to push her to hard, just think of her first season as a training season, where she will learn her skills to help her catch them rabbits, all lurchers have there own way of working the lamp, you just need to let her...
Just seen this, so not sure if you are sorted yet.
What you need to do is just use your normall recall when you switch your lamp off, Dont worry about scaring the rest of the rabbits away, they will be long gone anyway if your dog is hunting up, just get out as much as you can and when you slip...
Bath it in saline (sterile water). If you havent any saline..boil your kettle, let it cool and use that.
Use cotton wool..makeup removal pads are better as they dont shed. Only use the pad once and wipe outward. Then throw it away and get another pad to wipe again if necessary. If it doesnt...

Cheers for the replies, not sure of her wieght, but she is a solid little dog.
she's a 3/4 whippet x 1/4 beddy, she stands 19in to the shoulder.
