OMG I'm actually crying looking at her. Poor little thing. Can they trace the owner? I can't print the words I'm thinking of at the moment to describe him. Locking him in the shed without food and water would be too good for him.

Thank God you got her in time. :luck:

Thank goodness they've been found! Well done!

Unfortunately this happens a lot at the moment, could it be the recession? Whatever it is people should get caught and expect tougher convictions than banned from keeping animals for 5 years.

It's this reason that sometimes I want to leave my job as dog warden. I feel totally helpless sometimes as we do have powers to act but the law is an ass and too difficult to bring a prosecution!

You know what the most unbelievable thing is about this case? The barn was only down the road from the dog pound so it would have taken very little effort for these people to just drop her there instead of leaving her to starve to death.

It never ceases to amaze and sadden me, the cruelty of people to mans best friend and the forgiving nature of so many dogs. I hope mum goes from strength to strength as, from those photos, I don't know how she's managed to keep those pups alive. I don't suppose they'll ever find the monster did this and, even if they did and brought a prosecution, penalties are still woefully inadequate. I hope mum and babies find their forever homes.

What a poor girl :( How can anyone treat any animal in such a horrific way  They need lynched and more

I hope she has a long and happy life and her babies all get loving homes too :luck: :luck: :luck: Well done to you for saving her and her little ones :huggles:

I understand the frustration that makes you want to leave your job as a dog warden but the profession needs

you and those like you. Hang in there and know that you do make a difference.

But no-one could justify this type of cruelty - recession or not!

Even a phone call to a rescue could have brought earlier comfort to this poor girl and her babies. The cost? Pennies!

People who do this should get banned from keeping animals forever - five years is nowhere near enough. People who subject animals to this sort of

cruelty don't become caring people after 5 years.

Well done Sarah for finding a space for this lovely girl and her babies.

I hope that she doesn't ever have to be cold, hungry or frightened ever again.

What a beautiful girl

She has had nothing to eat for a very long time, poor wee lass:( I am very happy that she is now warm and safe with you :huggles:

Her puppies are beautiful too

Shame on the scum who left her there to suffer a long and fearful death    B*!**!*s

omg....how could anyone do that

she really is stunning and im sure once her puppies are weaned a forever sofa wont be far behind for her

I do not suppose it just occurred to anybody that she was not dumped there; she may have strayed and found the barn as a good place to whelp. There may be somebody frantically searching for her.

The puppies look like Whippets, at least from the little I can see of them in the photos, there is no indication they are X bred.

They were boarded up in there with no food or water! She could not have got in there by herself. You can see by the state of her she was not just left there for a night or two without anything to eat or drink! Sorry Seraphina but this was an act of abandonment.

Oh my god. Poor poor little girl. Thank god she is safe and warm with you now.

The slob of a person who left a loverly looking girl and her puppies to starve to death is a really sick b-----d.

How are they doing now?

Poor girl trying to feed her babies when she is just a skeleton covered in skin, and those beautiful sad eyes say it all.

I really want to believe in karma just now and that whoever was responsible for abandoning this poor dog will get what is due to them

Good luck getting this lovely girl back to health. The pups seem fit and healthy. Was there only two ?

Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing her getting better.

I think that the fact that the pups look like whippets is even more proof that someone deliberately/accidentally put her to another whippet they owned and then decided it was too much trouble. You wouldn't get a dog in that state and be frantically looking for her. You'd keep your head down with shame. He's probably glad she's gone, and doesn't care whether some kids saved her or strung her up for sport. It's a worry in case he has others - presumably he has the sire otherwise the sire's owners would be wondering what happened?

Its too early to tell what the puppies will be at this stage as they are still only very young. They have not opened their eyes yet but they have been well cared for by mum. Their fosterer has decided to call the mum Dilly after the daffodils. She is an absolute sweeheart and is now wagging the tail and enjoying plenty of tasty food and treats. Pups are two girls and a boy. Names for them will come later ;)

Aww , Dilly is such a lovely name

Good luck to them all :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

I think Dilly is a lovely name

Looking forward to following the progress of Dilly and her pups.
