Both dogs look great. I don't know if all beddys are a problem like Rafferty, or not.Hi,I couldn't figure out how to put a pic up in a PM so will put them on here
The beddy is Rafferty, he is a rescue, found by the dog warden, probably left behind by travellers, he's a bit of a sod, has a right temper & has snapped at me quite a few times. Personally I wouldn't have another full beddy. He's too much of a terrier for me, little horror
On the flip side, he will come to work with me on fundraising days, meet & greet loads of people including children & be patted all day long without a murmer. He's been hospital visiting & I can take him anywhere & know he'll behave himself. It's just at home where he tries it on
The first cross is our Scrumpy, she is a little love, really wimpy most of the time but every now & then the terrier in her shows itself. She was found at about 10 weeks old on a really busy road & is still very scared of traffic & hates loud noises . She is very sensitive & we daren't ever shout at her or else she gets really upset.
(could you get some sort of dog whisperer on the case?)alHi,I couldn't figure out how to put a pic up in a PM so will put them on here

He's a lovely 'earthy' looking dog. No trouble with fences! I'm guessing the dam was a beddy and sire whippet? My beddie/whippet 1st cross, he was the only 1 this colour in the litter that is why I picked him, I already had a beddie/greyhound with the blue roughcoat. He has been a genuine all rounder, he does simulated coursing, obedience, agility & straight races. Best of all is that he is a brilliant worker, nothing seems to phase him in the field.
He was bred by Phil Haines, I think it was a one off mating unfortunately.
mmm...I thought they came out more shaggy that way round. What do I know!Other way round  Sire is a blue beddie, dam is a dark brindle whippet
If the racing is on,we will be there with all the lurchers, hope to see you. :thumbsup:Hi, new to this forum after contacting, Dorset lurcher Racing, ( Jen who was very helpful )Hope to attend next meet on 13th December, at Shaftesbury, to meet everyone.
I lost my whippet cross of 16 years last month and am already looking for another dog.
I would be interested if anyone knows where I can find, preferably, a btch, 1st cross bedlington x whippet puppy?
...and would they agree that this is a better choice than a pure beddy?
This was my previous bitch:
Well I suppose I could but tbh I've come to the conclusion he'll always be a little sod whatever we do (could you get some sort of dog whisperer on the case?)
Yes I think so. I quite like the hairy mad look they have over the neater curls of a pure beddy.Well I suppose I could but tbh I've come to the conclusion he'll always be a little sod whatever we do (could you get some sort of dog whisperer on the case?)
He'll go for ages being good & then he forgets himself & goes all grumpy again, it's just the way he is. We've had him for nearly 9years now & he's not eaten anyone yet :-
Wise choice going for the cross
Hello! this is our 1st cross beddy whipppet bitch. Dam is a whippet, sire a bedlington - blue but with liver in his lines. We waited ages for her but she was totally worth it. A really happy confident clever little thing. Friendly but safely reserved with strange people and dogs, very laid back, and easy to train. Very clean in the house, loving, and yet has perfect retrieve already and is obivously going to be FAST! A perfect pet and worker all rolled into one. Hold out for the right litter because it is totally worth it!
