I was talking to Tony Cooper about another matter and this was not mentioned but he did tell me that he had mated his and Malcolm's 70 odd lb bitch greyhound to a whippet.  If this is the case wouldn't it be ironic if they all turned out too big to fit in the traps!  If this does go ahead I  for one will boycot the meeting they bring the traps to in protest.  Anybody who feels the same pm me and I will print them all out and send them to the BWRA.  If we get enough people to do this surley they woud have to reconsider.  So all you people out there who have just bred a litter out of a greyhound I suggest that you think seriously about the pups future as a racing dog.  Looks like the BWRA are making the NWRF look even better..............3 cheers for the NWRF!!
For everyone's information all of my dogs would fit in the trap as I do not have a no limit dog at present but I still will refuse to run my dogs in support of others with bigger dogs.

My hero  well said Gary:thumbsup:

Could i also add, that although i am over in Ireland, and not yet a member of the BWRA or the NWRF.I was thinking and looking forward to joining these and coming across next year if not this. But whats the point,if there;s gona be nothing for my dogs.

I don't think the scr dog will be made to run out of whippet traps when larger traps will be all ready there to use...seems strange that people would want to run out of whippet traps when all will have been schooled around the bends out of greyhound traps..

Hi Billy can i just stop you there THE NNWRF WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE'S BE USING WHIPPET TRAPS ON THE BENDS, UNLESS GREYHOUND TRAPS WERE NOT AVAILABLE , THE NNWRF COMMITTEE HAVE ENOUGH TO DO AT OPENS WITHOUT DRAGGING A SET OF TRAPS AROUND THE COUNTRY

I do hope to see you racing in the UK soon

Would love to think your right Denise, but why ferry whippet traps there if they dont expect the scratch dogs to squeeze into them. After all the little uns don't have to squeeze into greyhound traps do they

For any of you out there who think this is just heresay and can't be bothered to do anything about it BEWARE there is a chance this might happen :( Karen

This could be a storm in a tea cup lads, has the highgate track got insurance to use any other traps other than their own at a meeting, may pay for some to do some homework first. Just a thought

Think its all a bit stupid myself this means someone working all day pulling whippet traps, when highgate supply's the trap men along with there own traps in with the cost of stadium hire ....and someone suppling a trailer to move the traps to and from race tracks, also extra fuel expenses and extra work load for who ever is moving the traps around.

surely all paying members /owners of scr dogs should be allowed to run their dogs out of ghd traps as they always have done

i think john m may be right regarding insurance should be looked into its causing some shit over a silly idea :( more racers not less please  its time it was realized just what a big part the scratch racing plays in this sport

Have all those who have voiced their opinion on this topic sent Gary Farmer a pm.
