It might be fair to say that the numbers in most classes on the bends are down to the straights Tony...as some members don't run the bends and some whippets wont do the bends.

Lets hope that who ever off the top table makes a comment soon so the members are aware of what traps there dogs will be running from would save alot of speculation

TONY WE WILL HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE ON THAT ONE .WE HAVE BEEN DOWN THAT ROAD NOT AGAIN PLEASE

THE ONE THING WE CAN AGREE ON IS RULES COMING OUT OF THIN AIR WITHOUT BEING VOTED ON BY THE MEMBERS THATS WHY I RESIEND AS A REP

You're right Denise, entries are generally lower for bend racing for the reasons you have given however it's also true that a significant number of scratch racers don't want to race against the larger ghd bred No limit dogs on the bends.

its quite simple to understand there are certain people out there that would do anything to win at any cost.

these people are not interested in the welfare of our dogs as winning a race is more important to them.

Tony I would have been over the moon if our Harvey (1/2 cross)had stayed small enough for straights aswell as bends.Height wise not a problem. It's his width that does him,but when we bought him as a pup the intention was for scratch racing. He has now grown into the No Limit catergory. If I manage to get a race on the bends I would be quite happy to race what ever is running at the time, cause I thought that was what racing was all about. For what reason would the significant numbers of scratch racers(your words)not want to race the larger ghd breeds(your words). It cannot be for safety, because why run all weights off including scratch for supreme. The only other reason in my eyes is because these people think there dogs aren't fast enough to win.At the moment that might well be the case, but who's to say in the future a weighted scratch dog is faster than the rest.I do know that when this happens(and i'm sure at some point it will)the size of the No Limits wont be an issue. :D Karen

karen your are bang on NO-ONE will moan when a 36lber or a 40lber or even a small no-limit wins supreme

just as they didnt when neils no limit WONDERWALL beat stunner at kinsley !!!!

just out of curiosity anyone with a no limit who doesnt race on the bends... is it becoz the other dogs are too big?

i have a no limit the reason i dont race him on the bends has nothing to do with the size of the other dogs quite simply hes a sprinter thats why we dont race him on the bends. so anyone not race coz the other dogs r too big?

I see that the BWRA have not replied to this thread :( Perhaps Mrs Hopkins in her capacity as secretary whom I might add has taken the time to read the thread  (I noticed your name whilst reading the topic)could approach the commitee for a reply to us all. There is no open forum on the BWRA website so an answer would be much appreciated on here.

Yours hopefully Karen

Well looking at the majority of posts,it comes over to me that we are pertinacious scratch racers, and I'm very proud
