I've raced a 17lb bitch at at least one half yd/lb bend club meeting. Personal point of view didn't mind one bit. We don't complain ( :- " ) when our dogs get a long way back on the straight handicap club races (i.e Open class 28lb giving open class 23lb a 10 yard start). At least nobody will panic about the h/w's smashing into the back of the l/w at the end of the race :b

Besides just imagine the suprise you'd get if the l/w dog/bitch won. (w00t)

Geoff is his own man, and he will do the best for all whippet racers as he has always done, i only pointed out that this handicap to be used at the next meeting did not suit the smaller dogs, it was in no way a criticism of geoffs ability to run an event and i would not like it to seem so. I am sure that given time Geoff will vary the handicap to give all racers a chance of winning a race, but it should also be what it is, two races for a fiver and a great social event to boot with good company,Well done Geoff and Hazel for the past, present and the future of this club    :luck:
No probs John, we will take on board everyones suggestions  and continue to be as fair as possible.

The Boss

hey boss i didnt mean to be negative :( just my opinion with the little uns :)) good luck with the event

everybody is entitled to an opinion and i respect anybody who voices theirs.

but in my opinion you should do it the way you planned in the first place.

and "what the hay" 2 runs for a fiver.an socialising too.cant beat it

'I'll just sit on the lure too'
