i made home made soup last night.

Boil a gammon joint in a large pan for about 1 hour 30 mins take it out and then chop it up and put back in the pot, add chopped up leeks carrots, celery and barley and peas and leave it for about another hour and abit then it ready to eat.

tho you can really use any meat we sometimes use gammon and chicken.

I've got a recipe for tomato soup which is really simple but you do have to use stock cubes I'm afraid. I can't remember the exact amounts but ingredients are - 1 tin chopped toms, 300ml (I think) tomato juice, 300ml (?) veg stock, onions, garlic, salt if you want and pepper. Oh and a bit of lea and perrins for flavour. Fry the onions and garlic in a tiny bit of oil or just water, plonk everything else in, boil it up for a bit then serve if you want chunky or blend it if you want it smooth  Its really easy, I don't measure stuff out, just bung it in and taste it :D

If you've got a bike, get a turbo trainer  a bit pricey but it means you can set up your bike in front of the telly. They can be a bit noisey though

:) Our local practise nurse and a few of us from our doctors did a test on a detox diet of veg soup and fruit (only certain fruit but cant remember what) the soup was made from celery leek onion carrots etc with a small tin of tomatos to thicken. After a few days you could have a small potato with it (w00t) but only alternate days :(

the nurse lasted 2 days  I lasted 4 and only one other lady lasted the full 7 days :b All of us suffered the most horrendous headaches  I mean pain like youve never had in your head before - and I suffer from migraine and theyre bad enough! the nurse said she was so bad her husband was going to ring for an ambulance - she was climbing the walls. We all lost weight (the woman who lasted the longest lost 11lb! if youre gonna do it get plenty of headache stuff in :b

I certainly wouldnt recommend it - it hurts too much  :luck: :luck:

No soup takes ages. I would suggest that you invest in a Covent Garden Soup book. I particularly love their carrot and cardomon.

I detox for a few weeks every year, usually after the Christmas holidays to get all the alcohol out of my system. I don't have soup, as it is just disgusting if you can't add salt, etc.

The main thing i have is juiced vegetables, fruit and ginger. Buy a vegetable juicer and juice them fresh when you want them. You can also have brown rice with steamed veggies and Braggs All Purpose Seasoning Sauce. It is all natural and a saviour when you are detoxing and need some flavour.

Just found a few detox soup recipes for you. Hope they help:

This delicious, healthy recipe by chef Sabra Ricci can be used in a cleansing detox diet. It makes a perfect snack to satisfy the tastebuds.

• 1 cup medium diced onion

• 1 cup medium diced carrots

• 1 cup medium diced celery

• 1 cup medium diced leek

• 6 cups water

• 2 bay leaves

• sprig of thyme

• 2 pounds of chopped spinach

PREPARATION:

Method

1. Heat the olive oil in a medium stock pot and saute the garlic for two minutes.

2. Add onion, celery, leeks and carrots to the pot.

3. Saute until the onions are translucent.

4. Add water, bay leaves, and thyme to the stock pot.

5. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer for one hour.

6. Allow to set for one hour to cool.

7. Remove bay leaves and thyme.

8. Puree vegetables and broth in a blender.

9. Pour the puree back into the stock pot and add spinach.

10. Bring to medium heat and cook until spinach wilts.

Serve hot.
