WELL I SOLD A LITTER OF BEARDED COLLIE GREYHOUND X WHIPPET GREYHOUNDS FOR£250 AND THE LADS THAT GOT THEM SAID THEY WERE TO CHEAP FOR WOT THEY WERE.IF PEOPLE WANT THE DOG THEY PAY THE PRICE.WHEN U LOOK AT SOME PUPS IN THE COUNTRYMAN'S WEEKLY GOING FOR £300 +.I STILL SAY PRICES FOR LURCHERS ARE OVER RATED FOR WOT THEY ARE BUT HEY THAT THE PRICE THEY GO FOR THESE DAYS.

yes you are correct i had 5 homes lined up and should you read the ad you will see only 3 homes req???? im happy with the price considering the cost that will be involved as 3 are free to those chosen and 1 staying with me so????? your point is exactly? do all yours go with vacc microchip and full vert cert????? considering i have a long list to go thro and homechecking to do then no im sorry its business on how much i ask for them? after all people breed whippets and charge 400 per pup and in a littter of 8 say they make no money so its clear then that i wouldnt so what is the problem , im homechecking, im having breed related health issues addressed by a vet ( not keyboard vets) and microchipping as a safety factor, as well as directing people to this thread and site so they can make their own minds up, to make a balanced choice to have FACTS at hand which this thread has done so.

people have a choice in anything in life, they choose yes or no, given the facts involved, this thread is very inteesting for anyone wishing to know about the breed there have been some very valid points made , with information we are able to make life choices :thumbsup:

well seems im getting one of these pups and was interested in buying a iggy before these were born but got closed out straight away cos im not in the click.iv gone for the closes thing to them a cross and not a inter breed ped like it sounds like most of this breed is.i know nothing about iggy's but wot i have read on here about them and some of the people that have them .people will run a mile from buying a one.stay in ye little click :- "

Thank you very much to those who have given carefully considered comments which contain helpful advice on Iggys :b . To a non Iggy owner such as myself this is definate food for thought.

I have to say that there has been some pretty needless sniping on here though. Shouldnt Iggy enthusiasts all be working together to promote the breed to a wider audience? Food for thought, thanks for the helpful advice though.

I'm sure there are a number of people here who have at some point considered Iggies, because they are a lovely breed, but have been put off by the animosity that seems to exist within the IG community rather than by actual issues with the breed itself, especially as these can never be discussed without without heat and unpleasant personal remarks.

I'm very disappointed to read such harsh comments made towards Tanya (Posh Totty) on this particular discussion. 5 weeks ago I picked up my first whippet pup from Tanya. Tanya and her dad were very helpful and friendly with all our visits and info regarding my beautiful pup Lacey. As this is the first dog I've ever owned it is so nice to deal with someone who is so passionate about her dogs. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for pups to contact Tanya. To know that if I have any problems or concerns she is only too happy to help. And yes Tanya was concerned that Lacey would be going to a loving home which is nice to know that it is the welfare of the pups that is her priority. P.S. Sorry to butt in your discussion x

well said i also travled 6 and half hours to tanya's for a pup for my wife the first thing she done was put the kettle on made me and the wife a cupa and my kids a drink of pop i met tanya her 2 boys and her mam and then her father all were very welcoming to me and my family i would recoment tanya to anyone the pup lightning is now nearly 14 weeks old she is bouncing and one of the best pups i have ever owned.

I have just spoken to Tanya for the first time today and found her extremely helpful and open, giving me loads of info on the italian greyhound and directing me to this site to find out more.She obviously cares enormously about her pups with all the checks she does whether pure iggys or crosses.She comes accross as a genuine dog lover and is a good example to all K9 members

LOL TBH I'm really surprised at him wanting an Iggy. Mind you he surprised me when he said he'd got a racing pup because I thought he was going to call it a day.

I believe you was at the champs Tanya? Sorry I didn't introduce myself (had banging headache that day think I'd got a bit worked up over my dog running) You couldn't of missed me though, I was the one in a green jacket walking up the track screaming DOBBBBBBERRRRRR!!!!! :b

he did try to point a lot of k9s out to me and i was sorry i never got to spk to many at all but thomas took a nasty fit trackside and i did feel a bit sorry for my boy so we moved, when i 1st got spking to george he was asking a lot about iggys as his girl has always liked them, thik he has gone through most channels to get one but never successful, was under threat of death tho if i opened my mouth bout him liking those plastics tho lol!!! so did anyone take pics of him walking my 2?? be worth a fortune off him not to post what you reckon??? a belated hi anyway :thumbsup:
