Same here Rachel....the tragic death of a music legend.... its very sadsomesone son, father, brother ....lets remember that.

RIP Michael

and RIP Farah Fawcett Majors too...
I feel very sad for him and his family too. He was obviously a very mixed up person and his childhood had a lot to do with this, but his music and dancing were brilliant.

He was a musical legend.

RIP Michael.

That is celebrity for you. It is of HUGE interest to literally millions and millions of people all over the world.
I agree

He lived his life in the media and so its natural his death

would be such a massive deal.

People are entitled to grieve for the man if they want.

I don't think he done anything to those kids, i think in

his odd world he was one of those kids.....
Thats how I feel Anne, :( I dont really feel he was capable in some ways...he was such a kid himself...

some of the things he did made me cringe....but then I thought of being brought up from such a young age always on stage...always in the limelight

not being able to enjoy childhood .....a normal childhood...

i agree, with you both, i think he set himself up for a fall by his naive actions......i don't think he did anything either....and in my opinion some families used him as a meal ticket.....also what sort of a parent lets their child go and stay with the 40 odd yr old man down the street??????? (they were lucky it was him, child like himself..and not a pedo!)

after the loss of my dads brother last week and his service yesterday i find all this nasty back lashing sad and uncalled for, the man is dead...have some respect....you may not care but I'm sure his family and fans around the world do.
So very true Julie.

I am quite disgusted by some of the comments I have read on facebook and the like.

RIP Michael.
Me too Rachael... :( at the least have some respect for his death, poor man.

no one can say for sure whether he fiddled about with kids or not....you are all quick to say he didnt but no one really knows do they? my beef is the amount of coverage that this is getting...totally OTT...think he would have pegged out doing the concerts anyway by the sounds of it....

we all have experienced death in our lives so no way do i treat it lightly.....julie,i am sorry for your loss......if i come across as uncaring towards the news of micheal jackson then so be it...

i think its each to their own....i would be a hypocrite if i said i was sad about his death...i never liked him when he was alive....yes, its very sad for his family and his proper die hard fans.......but some of the things that have been in the press about him cant all be false.......i found him a very strange man and we cant blame his up bringing for that...he could have quite easily have not been in the public eye as much and not done some of the weird and wacky things that he did............yes he sold a lot of records and yes i guess he was very talented...but that doesnt make him a good person...........maybe i will dangle one of my kids over the balcony when im on holiday...see what sort of reaction i get !

and as for all the jokes...well your gonna get those no matter who dies...i remember the ones about princess Diana...and she was the "peoples princess" !!!

summed up how i feel about it perfectly helen  meant to add i still think its very sad he has gone and people should be allowed to grieve in which ever way they want and some things i have read are just down right disrespectful :( people should be ashamed

of course we have...everyone has.....but it doesnt give anyone the right to have pop at someone cos they said something about a person they didnt know or like just because they were in the public eye..........he is dead......he was famous....so was hitler...i dont give a poop...it is not gonna make any impact on my life what so ever......i know that sounds harsh...but really i dont give a hoot......and that doesnt make me a heartless bitch (well maybe a little..lol).....yes sad for his family...but what about me when my beloved aunty died.......it happens everyday to nice honest people......and i dont think he was a genuine person...so im not gonna gush !!

im not saying any more on the matter of this man's death...cos quite honestly its boring me to death (no pun intended) !!

over and bloody out :)

just seen your post julie...im very sorry for your loss xxxxxxxxxxxx

Well I seem to be in the minority here but I think it is really sad. I for one don't really believe a lot of what has been slung at him in recent years and would rather remember him for the music legend that he was.

There has been a lot of coverage about Farrah Fawcett's death both on Tv and the internet. It is too a very sad loss, but it is inevitable that when a living legend dies suddenly it will be over shadowed.

i agree with you ,i didnt believe everything that was said about him either .

Nor me, I just loved his performance and presence, Justine and me watched his vids and listened to his songs, good memories for me

In a strange way his life was more tragic than his death; if that makes sense.

We really need to look at our culture and the obsession with all things celebrity and the trouble that we create.

Wise words above

He held no appeal to me music/personality wise-but each to their own.

I appreciate those who knew/loved him will be very sad.

Makes perfect sense to me :)

I heard Jackson described on the radio as the greatest musician of all time this morning ... and I'm thinking umm, Mozart, Beethoven, etc, etc.. Speaking as something of a musician myself, and with adult kids who are (part time drummer in a band/part time violinist in an orchestra) I'd say Jackson was innovative, talented and entertaining but no genius. Give me some of the superannuated old rock stars gracing Glastonbury with their presence this weekend any day. I've no time at all for celebrity culture but a great respect for true musical ability ... unfortunately the latter often seems to be the province of troubled souls.
