I was listening to the radio last night and there was an article about people from the South who it would appear are retiring to the North in droves, appparently Southport is a popular destination. However, when I retire I'm settling in Newark.

How many Club shows do you want in the Midlands/North of England???
You have Northern Counties, you have North East, you have South Yorkshire, you have Midland Whippet, you even have the Whippet Club at Coventry.  If the NWA moved up that would leave no show in the South at all and our 'nearest' one would either be Wales or East Anglian, not exactly local either way!!!

ALL OF THEM Us northerners dont earn as much money as you southerners and we cant afford the petrol ;) :clown:

Cor 8)

I don't usually indulge in any of these discussions, but I can't let this one go :- "

Everything is relative you know. I might (and that's a BIG might!) earn more because I live in the south, but this only means that my mortgage is more and undoubtedly everything else, council tax etc blah blah blah.

I remember a time when I used to have 2 holidays a year abroad and untold weekends away. Now I spend all my spare cash on travelling to dog shows MILES away, and paying loads out on entry fees and get to go camping instead of jetting off on a plane (mind you this bit I like, nothing better than holidaying with the dogs :b )

Anyway, my point is, I think I will be doing a lot more travelling than you this year in order to get to all of the shows that are much nearer those of you further up the country...........

Absolutely no offence meant, just wanted to get the "relative" point across :- "

Tracy (quietly and quickly running away  )

Tracy , this is a wind up for Dessie and Karen (w00t)

I realise how lucky I am living in the `middle `of England , No show more than 5 hours away  I wouldnt more further south OR North .

As for the wages , as I ony do 20hours a week at the most , :- " I havent clue what `real people` earn anyhow  :huggles:

Please come over at the next show we are both at , and I can beat you up before you run away :clown:

Jackie ( not at all a nasty person o:) )

Ah but don't forget I will be bringing Sparky with me, what murderer can feel confident in accomplishing his dreaded deed with a whippet hanging off his nether regions. Still I'm willing to give it a go and have got my map-book out, Kingston on Soar sounds posh, I'll need to have a posh address then my southern friends will be impressed.

Jenny

Well done everyone  .... and can I just say what great pictures.

Unlike where JAX lives.

Nottinum town is terraced houses - all back-to-back with shared outside privies - Just the sort of area where whippets originated

True , thats why we are all so friendly and have the best whippets  , Unfortunatley Dawn and Richard ( being further north ) still live in a cave (w00t) and have to come down to civilisation to use our toilets and lekky
