oh trish..that looks sore..poor girlie..let us know what vet says :huggles:

God Trish that looks awful, but it must have been a relief for her compared to what it was like. I've missed a bit as one of mine has been very poorly so I'm not sure if it has burst on it's own or the vets have done it? (Presume there couldnt still be a foreign body in there?)

Apart from a/b's and keeping it clean, once all the puss/fluid has drained out I'd start to put dermasol cream on it to help the healing process.

Poor Pheobe - give her a gentle hug from us.

:( That looks nasty. Hope it starts to shrink and crust over soon. :huggles:

Hugs to your brave little soldier-ette  :huggles:

clean it with salt water flush it out with a syringe if you have one.try to not let the outside scab over before the inside has healed.otherwise it will seal all the puss inside and it will just happen again.as soon as it starts to heal from the inside just keep it clean and let it heal from the inside to the outside.dermasol or any good antibiotic wound powder/spray/lotion will help too  good luck hope shes better soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Oh my word... trish... poor little mite.

This is all to do with all that swelling?

I am sorry I must of missed something since phoebe's face swelled the other day.

Oh poor love... I hope she gets better real soon.... lots of cuddls for us all here :huggles:

Poor Phoebe, that looks very sore. How is she in herself? Is it bothering her alot?

Hope the vet has a good method for treating it.

:huggles: for Phoebe

She needs antibiotics to clear that up, it has to heal from the inside out as said before, keeping it clean is paramount, don't put wound powder on it, boiled water with salt is better to keep it flushed out, if in doubt, go to the vet. :x

the vets flushed the wound under her tongue the day before, then

it either burst on it own or she scratched the area the next morning which then opened it all, took her back to the vets and he managed to remove a small piece of grass,so hopefully thats all that was in it :luck: its still slightly oozing but nothing like it was,she still as another week to go on the anti bs and steroids, then im hoping that the wound will heal over on its own :luck:

hi,shes been on the anti bs since last thursday and had a general to investigate it as the wound starts under her tongue, they flushed it out and drained a lot of the fluid off to relieve her of the painful swelling, now its burst under her chin i presume the wound runs from her tongue to her chin,we are bathing it with salt water but the hubby was convinced the opening was getting bigger,i told him theres nothing the vets could do about that until the infection had drained away and gone, but you know what men are like(well some of them),ive sent some pics to our vets so they have upto date info on her

will get some of dermasol in for when we need to use it  she crys when we try syringe saline into her wound so think its hurting and now we just use cotton wool balls

Hi Trish and Graham. Just been reading your latest and looking at the pics. I hope that girl is feeling a bit better. As has been said, it all looks very sore. It must be quite dreadful for her. Its nice to see so many people sending her and you all good wishes and also seems as if there is a fair bit of knowledge to be imparted from some of the well wishers which will be useful  Good luck and best wishes from us :luck:
