Here are some pictures from Sunday.

Monty is the bay in front, my colours are the black and yellow

You can see how much he loves it by the look on his face and his pricked ears :D ......... first time round

Same fence on the second circuit - he's still in front!

Making the horse behind him stretch to get over the jump!

And the 3rd time, now the last fence ........ you can see he's tired now but still in 2nd place

He got caught on the line and was awarded 3rd place by the judges.

Lucy, my jockey, is adamant she got 2nd, but no point in complaining as there'll be another race on another day and so we're looking forward to that :D

Sorry about the pictures, I am ordering the first one as I think it's a lovely shot of him so when I get it I shall post the bigger and clearer version

** Congrats**

There must be a great atmosphere at that type of racing, only a flat track here. I would love to get to one of those one day.

Great pic's what height was the jumps set at?
They are approx 4'-4'6" high and there is always one with an open ditch in front of it so that it is wider!! (and more scarey (w00t) )

No, I don't race ride nowadays ........ to old and creaky I'm afraid!! But my jockey, Lucy, does a great job on the course and I do all the work with him at home. Monty is approx 16.1hh but has a high wither so looks a tad bigger than he is. Any taller and I could never get on!!!!!

I've never enjoyed watching my horses run before but, for the first time, I loved watching Monty run. He's a total natural and he loves to be in front. His jumping is faultless and he had his ears pricked right through the race. Even when the winner overtook him before the last fence he stuck his neck out and battled to try and stay in front. He's just a really honest little horse and he enjoys it

Thanks so much for all the lovely comments folks :D Monty will be running again (all being well) on 18th April at Flete Park, near Plymouth
