Well done Mark for putting on a race between your dog and Ash, I would just like to point out that Ash is a first cross whippet greyhound, and the race was over 175 yards and the winning distance, by an independant judge, was 7 lengths. Enjoyed the afternoon, hope the rest of the season is just as enjoyable. Cheers Mike  :cheers:

again thanks mike and yes you were right about the lengh i didnt know lengh of track until it was confirmed by mark, at least i beat all the unders she raced so that isnt to bad but i will say you got 2 good dogs there but any one can see you put a lot of time into your dogs, mark even my small merle won all the ped and not peds on the day and she was smallest in every race

I did race Ellie against Ash at the race meeting today as well, over 175 yards (which all the races were run at today) Ellie beat Ash by 4 lengths. Just to be clear, she is not 7/8ths greyhound either. Mike :thumbsup:

Yes Billy, Ellie Star is a full sister to Miss Tori, Ellie-may & Whistler, she was sent over with 2 other pups as far as i know one broke its leg and was give to a pet home and have never heard anything about the other one :thumbsup:

ellie is a litter sister to "miss tori" .palmer never registered her on the "non-pedigree whippet data base" thats why you cant see her breeding. so if you check it using her name youll see their breeding. so infact is she not an irish dog then?

In reply to you saying that Les Parish was the line judge, this is not true as Les was on the 150yard mark. The judge on the 175yard mark was independant and it was his decision alone in reference to the 7 lengths. As far as Ash's breeding is concerned he is out of a 26lb racing whippet called Wor John crossed with a greyhound. Ellie is out of a non pedigree whippet called Miss Ellie crossed with a greyhound. If anybody wants to know Miss Ellie's breeding, if they contact Gary Farmer on the Non-Ped Whippet Racing forum on this website I'm sure he will clarify her breeding as he raced this bitch on the whippet tracks. hopefully this clarifys any confusion regards the breeding of "ellie". this is her litter sisters pedigree...therefore hers too.

miss ellie was put back to another greyhound as you can see on the dams side.

It is fare to say that Ash is a first cross whippet x greyhound, you have to go back 4 generations before theres any greyhound in Wor John. or 55% G & 45% W.

I have been breeding running dogs for over 40 years and still learning, some times % don't come into it its all about genes & genetics.

I'm beginning to wonder if the old adage is true "never believe a doggyman". :cheers: Who cares what the exact breeding of each dog is? It was a lurcher race and the fastest lurcher won and if any non-ped whippet wanted to run or show or take part in any lurcher event it is eligible to do so...can't understand what all of the fuss is all about. Come on folks lighten up, others are viewing what goes on in this forum. Surely the lurcher folk can show everyone else how it ought to be done.
