Last night, out dear Rosie Spaniel -the girl who lived with whippets and thought she was one, finally lost her fight with heart failure.
She had been unwell for about a month, but yesterday evening, after her meal, she suddenly got very breathless and in spite of medication, could not pass urine (probably kidney failure according to the vet) and finally passed away, with both her owner, (my friend and neighbour, Bea,) and I, stroking her (she was deaf, so talking wasn't much good).
She was a brave little dog. We got her as a badly treated rescue dog about 4 years ago. Since then she has had a lovely life! Bea got her excess weight off and she took her to dog training along with our Polly. They both got their silver medals with Rosie copying Polly, while we used hand and vocal commands.
Here are a few pictures of our little darling. Born ?? Died 8/1/07 RIP
