BLACK PEARL GETS MY VOTE LET THE OWNER REGISTER THE DOG INFACT OMO ALL DOGS BRED BEFORE THE SAID DATE REGARDLESS OF BREEDING AND WEIGHT SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER.STILL THINK THE 55LB CAP WAS ENOUGH AND THE BREEDING PROGRAME WAS A BIG HIT AT ME AND GARY BUT HEY THATS LIFE I CAN LIFE WITH THAT EVEN THO I DONT AGREE WITH IT BUT RULES ARE RULES AND WE MUST ABIDE BY THEM I JUST HOPE THE TOP TABLE GETS TOGETHER AND SORTS THIS OUT FOR THE DOGS IN QUESTION IM SURE THEY WILL.
WELL SAID GRAHAM

I agree totally with that, can't just make the rule for black pearl its got to be all the dogs in question

all in favour of dogs running my question is will they fit in the traps at most clubs ?i would not wont to squash my dog up as this is not right ...neil

always seem 2 happen around the bend season as its only on the bends the bigger dogs can fit in the traps. my opinion is let the dog run i never agreed with the 55lb cap to start with and the breeding prog i didnt really understand and i still dont tbh. (w00t)

Breeder's have no control of the weight the pups will end up at, as adults. But they do have control of the % of greyhound they are putting into their breeding program.

So I say, do away with the weight capping rule

Two prime examples, even though they didn't go over the 55lb limit, and I'm sure the breeders of these dogs had no intention of producing scratch dogs, are Chunky 36/40lb & Tarkow no-limit.

SOD THIS IM GOING TO SAY THIS AND DONT CARE WHO IT OFFENDS

THIS HAS BEEN A SET UP RIGHT FROM THE START

THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED TO BRING THIS RULE IN NOW WANT IT CHANGED

WHY BECAUSE ITS A LOCAL DOG RUNNING WELL AT A LOCAL TRACK

AND THE RULE THAT YOU WAS SO EAGER TO ENFORCE LAST YEAR HAS NOW BIT YOU IN THE ASS

I COULD PUT LOADS OF QUOTES ON BUT TO BE HONEST I CANT BE ASKED

HOPE THE DOG GETS REGISTERD BUT THIS STINKS OF AS LONG AS IM ALL RIGHT JACK

NOT ONE PERSON NOW DEFENDIING THE RULE

ONLY ONE WORD SPRINGS TO MIND

CORRUPT

GARY

What weight is the dog in question anyone know

The new rules will work as I said but not over night and as long as people don’t lie about what they are / have breed, limits need applying to none ped racing to protect our sport from falling prey to other canine sporting rules

The only way around this as I see it is to wait till this year’s AGM and hopefully something might be proposed that’s a more sensible solution...as has been said rules are rules only bit i think is confusing is the 10 week statement ..does it apply to both the % and capping or not

think your wrong about this how can you say the capping would be enough and how can you have a cap when breeding 3/4 greyhound to full greyhound  and selling them knowing that they would more than likely never be able to race ie going over the cap !! the only way for the weight to drop would be to cap the breeding not the weight, having said that i cant see why anyone would want to breed 3/4 greyhound to full greyhound to run with whippets also dont feel this was a hit at you and gary but at any member who was breeding as above if you and gary were breeding that way then yes it was to stop you doing so along with any other member breeding that way,

do think this dog along with any dog regardless of breeding and weight born before the cut off date should be allowed to reg and run

think the breeding rule was enough, think the capping is unfair, as has allready been said some can grow bigger with less greyhound in them e.g TARKOW 48lb litter brother 16/17lb litter sister 18lb it is such a shame when someone has bought a pup with the intention of joining our sport to be told their dog can't register or have its registration withdrawn

having said that it was allowed to be brought in by a majority vote of those who bothered to return their ballot papers.

The BWRA committee are only doing what they have been instructed to do and as requested they have agreed to an amnesty for those already mated etc so members shouldn't be blaming them for this sorry state, I think they do need to explain more clearly however what this relates to and ASAP especially as the closing date for registrations which is 1st March to run at bend champs is only 12 days away

neither rule is any good both should be given more thought before being put in

This is nothing about changing rules Gary. The 2 rules, both breeding and capping were voted in by the membership and as such are here to stay unless the membership vote on a proposal at a future date which does away with the rules in question.I personally can't see this happening as a)there was quite a large majority voted the breeding proposal in(think it was alot closer on the capping rule) and b)I've already heard it said that theres still too much greyhound in some dogs and maybe the breeding proposal didn't go far enough.I'm certainly wondering what this years proposals will bring.Anyway back to what I was saying, this is nothing about changing rules, this is about the amnesty period given by the commitee after the AGM.Don't see anything CORRUPT in expecting the amnesty to be applied to ANY pup already born or concieved before the end of the 10 week period. The BWRA commitee in their official statement as bought up on here by Dee did not say wether the amnesty applied to one rule only, so you can't blame us for attributing it to both rules

KAREN AS I SAID IN MY EARLER POST

I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WOULD BE AN AMNESTY FOR TEN WEEKS FOR THE BREEDING PROGRAME BUT IF ANY OF THE PUPS WENT OVER THE 55LB LIMIT

THERE REGISRATION WOULD BE RETURED

AND THIS IS WHAT IM SAYING

THAT IF NOW THAT RULE IS CHANGED THEN ITS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW ITS WHO YOU KNOW

THEN IN THIS CASE IT STINKS

AND PLEASE DONT SAY IVE GOT IT WRONG COS IVE GOT IT IN WRITING

SAYING THAT I WOULD STILL LIKE TO SEE THE DOG IN QUESTION RUN AND ALWAYS HAVE

GARY
