Now the recovery begins, he has been sleeping but at times crying so he has had his belly stroked and off to sleep he goes. Has had some water and a small amount of tuna, and he has just had his pain killer and antibiotic.

Able to stand on his leg, just :( vet said rest rest rest. On the lead in the garden then once he has done what he has to back to bed.

Back for a dressing change and new splint Monday. They have manipulated the cartlidge and tendons back in to place when they operated on him, put in 2 screws and some wire :( .

His brother wants to snuggle up to him, but we have to watch he doesn't lay on him, so baskets next to each other.

Got the crate out of the garage and have the plastic collar if needed. :(

Luckily we have my parents and in laws staying till next wednesday so plenty of watchers.

Will keep you all informed and up-date. :)

Aww bless. Isnt' it amazing how the others in the home know to be quiet and watchful when someone else isn't quite right!!

Glad to hear he's home and things are going well so far.

Wendy

So glad he is home. A bit of good news on this horrid day. He looks very handsome in his blue bandage :D .

Poor lad :( - despite the LEG - happy to be back home. The road is onwards and upwards now  :luck: :luck:

Just :huggles: to you all. Hopefully his recovery will be rapid and uneventful

:huggles: :huggles: Hugs to Pete for a good recovery - he is certainly going to be well looked after by his human and canine friends! :huggles: :huggles:

Good luck to Pete.

I know exactly how you feel but stay positive and jsut take each day as it comes - he'll no doubt suprise you with his determination. At least it's ice weather and he can snooze in the garden in the sun while he recovers. (We had to teather Leia to the pergola though as she wanted to do more than she should have on her leg)

While out walking, my one Whippet injured himself while running. It's his hind lower leg, vet said could be ligament or could be a small bone that has broken  :( , we had to leave him at the vets where he will be sedated then x-rayed. Now killing time waiting for the vet to ring back with some news. One minute he was fine then a yelp and he went down, poor Pete :(
Dont worry he will b ok. Thay are harder than thay make out

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: To them both

Lovely picture of them both together - your other boy (Smartie?) is really watchign over his brother, isn't he? Best of luck for a speedy and uneventful recovery :luck:

He has had some breakfast and tablets, out in the garden on the lead, crying at times think it's uncomfortable and he's frustrated :( . Already wants to go faster than allowed. The difficult thing is keeping him calm and getting him to rest :(

Have to find things to keep him entertained

poor mite, how long has he got to keep the plaster on for?

Ahhh, bless him, I always want to cry when I see dogs in plaster, it's because you can't explain it to them. He will be fine again soon, and it sounds like you are doing well with him....Perhaps a pig's ear might cheer him up?

Aaahhh ! speedy recovery Pete, glad he's home, looks like his brother will be looking after him

:luck: :luck: :luck:

He is having his dressings changed Monday PM, :( then has to keep the bandages on and splits for several weeks. trouble is he is feeling better by the day and want's to run, at the moment he is in the garden with the family but tied up. Will post some pics later. :)

Poor Pete :( What a shame If only they could understand! Lovely picture of him and Smartie at least he will get loads of attention with all the visitors around. It might take his mind off it. Look forward to hearing of his progress.
