We met up with Nicola, Fred & Stan for our usual walk in Lyme Park. It was a bit doubtful whether it would go ahead as just as we arrived the heavens opened and we had to sit in the car for 10 minutes listening to the rain rattling on the roof. :( But it did pass and we managed to have our walk without getting wet! :)

Lots of water on the ground

One of the first dogs we met was a young whippet. :D

Very nice, we were up there a few weeks ago. It's funny but our dogs always chase one another round the old house too :clown:

Must try to get up there again soon.

You certainly have some scenic walks there, looks a lovely place and wouldnt mind doing that ruined house up ,what a perfect stop to live :)

Looks like you all had a nice walk :) what beautiful views  very wet under foot though wasn't it gillian....

Maybe those whippet 'boats' would of come in handy after all :-

lovely pictures, and certainly looks like the gang had fun :)

Your gang would just love living there. :D It's a fantastic open space for whippets to run in - as soon as we get up there Muffin & Jonah are off like the wind into the distance! (w00t) I've got a couple of short videos of them charging off which I was going to post but they wouldn't load properly. Must have another go.

That's not a bad little camera you've bought there Gillian...some nice photos. ;) That other whippet we met was almost the same as Jonah wasn't he....I had to look twice to tell them apart for a second.

Heck my rucksack looks full! ....I'll have to lighten it a bit next time! I don't think I needed my large bottle of water and portable dog bowl with all that water around :p Couldn't go anywhere without my waterproofs, camera, sit mat, and maps and compass though :teehee: .

Here are my photos from the walk....

What have you found there Muffin?

We weren't the only ones exercising the dogs. What breed did we decide the large hairy dog was? I'm now thinking an otterhound?

Lots of lovely pictures and beautiful scenery. The four boys always look like they are having a good time :huggles:

I love the photo of gazelle Jonah! That's the sort of shot I don't think I can get with my little compact. :- And I have to confess to playing about with some of those skies to make them more dramatic! :b

I like the running one of Muffin too and, of course, Stan. And Fred looks very well. Don't the grasses look lovely at this time of year with their pink tinge. :) I still have no idea what that big dog was but he was very obedient - the way he just sat there as we approached was very impressive.

Lovely pictures from the both of you... Jonah sure is the athletic one isnt he... :p ...some great running shots of him

Lovely to see Fred and Stan joining in .....and Muffin (Oscars double) Im still lead walking Oscar so no running for him just yet sadly :(

so our walks havnt been quite the same lately. We would certainly have enjoyed that lovely walk. :)

It's a smashing spot isn't it? Fernilee is another lovely spot and is just down the road from me too. I can walk there quite easily from where I live. One of these days I'll bump into Sharon on a walk.....I bump into her occasionally in town as she works just down the road from me and lives t'other side of hill. :p
