Poor Mike what a dilemma - but you know what lifes a bitch sometimes and we learn by our mistakes - so unfortunately if his believed No Limiter is really a greyhound i would say sorry but he can't run in the champs and sadly if he can only have the one dog in another 14 years or so when poor Florance has gone to chase bunnies in the sky he will by then have learned alot more and investigate what he is buying much more.  As for the person who sold the so called no limiter as such has now been sussed and should be ashamed of himself for leading someone to buy a dog that wasnt what it really was.  Florance is loved so much and full of so many custard creams im sure she will still have a very happy and full life anyway :D
  well put

Bit unfair for mike and his kids , he was lead to believe the none ped whippet community where a friendly helpful lot

But what if Mike really did know that it was a full greyhound, and he was trying to pull the wool over our eye's 8) Us non-ped whippet racers don't condone cheating do we.

Lets say he did or he didn't know...suppose we will never know...Florance is whippet like in appearance she only weights 53 lb and is a little bit smaller than some no limiter

BUT SHES A GREYHOUND DEE AND THATS CHEATING. :( As someone off a top table, surely you agree with me?

Dee your just trying to get people to have a go at me cos i would say 'whippet like in appearance' if Florance was a full greyhound even if small would hardly be 'whippet like in appearance' so in my eyes he would have lost the fight to challenge the rules at point one and if breeding had been proved then the custard cream loving Florance is a greyhound and not a no limiter or whippet!!!!! lol

Mike needs to move house!
He is in private rented accommodation, so moving is just a question of finding the right place to move to.

Mike needs to get the whole family looking for a new house for the family so that:

They can keep Florence as a pet and run her in fun events and either:

Put her to a whippet for a litter of his own or

Ask his lovely local non-ped club to point him in the direction of a promising litter which are definitely non-peds

Not so far fetched - I moved so that my pair of pillocks could have a big garden to run around in, and I see from the boards that I'm not the only one to do this.

SORTED

Seems alot of up heavel lol

But a brill answer

But mike has decided he is going to stand his ground and fight the rules whippet like in appreance... he has since heard of a none ped that races in the 70s which was collie x whippet ...this bitch also produced saplings that where raced in the none peds and still exist in breeding lines of today ...

going to convince Hilda into selling both your pups now .... :)

Ignorance is not immunity in my book and Mike knows my opinion on this.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't impose a ban on Mike's dog running, infact I wouldn't oppose any unmarked grey from running.

Look Mike, if you like racing on a level playing field let me have Florence, and I will let you have a 9 months old pup, party schooled  well bred and its the real McCoy, she's called Flower loves kids fully innoculated and as been dew clawed. You and your family can come and visit Florance anytime you like  DEAL OR NO DEAL :sweating:

The collie cross as got whippet in it.A greyhound hasn't got any whippet in it.Whippet like in appearence or not

we'll accommodate Florance in the BWRA NORTH WEST BONANZA additional open 450yd scratch race ( as this doesn't come under any organizations rules) as long as Mike doesn't want to enter into the terrier racing as well :- "

Sorry if you feel it was you i was getting at i can honestly say its not ..so don't feel that way

I agree if Florance is a full greyhound then so be it , but with our breeding program the way it is its proving genetically that 1st x whippet greyhound to 1st cross whippet greyhound is going to produce greyhounds ... the problem coastly started this topic for other reasons ..i was just saying in my mind the reason and owners could be genuine ...the people involved know what i mean

Plus the way rules are at present ... certain people can breed how they like

 You're too obliging Linda

OK so I'm in pedigree racing not non-ped racing and I don't know all the ins and outs of the sport but surely if the rules say "whippet like in appearance" it doesn't matter what the breeding of a dog is, its the appearance that counts.

Everyone knows that the bigger a whippet gets the more greyhound like it becomes in appearance and the smaller a greyhound gets, the more whippet like it looks. Maybe not all the time, but most of the time. What needs defining is "whippet like in appearance" What does that mean? It needs writing down but I have a feeling that its always going to be down to personal opinion.

Until it is defined by something measurable then you're all just going to have to accept that it is only appearance that matters and I presume its the ruling bodies that decide that. The rest of you are just going to have to accept that or try to get the rule changed. Until then this discussion could go round in circles for ever.

Sorry, just an outsider's view I know, but at least I have no axes to grind - its just what seems obvious to me. I'll shut up now :b
