Hi all, Thought Id update you on what poor Ozzy has been up to ovet the last few days :( on wednesday under a GA he had a liver shunt and an endoscopy. The shunt didnt show anything wrong with his liver  but the vet says that he had some brown spots in his tummy that looked like he may of had a bleed but there was no evidence of ulcers - vet did a biopsy and has sent this off. He then managed to get an emergency MRI booked for Oz in Cheshire so off we went yesterday taking his notes xrays etc from my vet. I had also taken my camera as I had video of Ozzy when he was well and also what he was like since he fell. To cut a long story short - after a 7 1/2 hour wait poor Ozzy staggered out after yet another GA with his little head shaved, leg and tummy shaved from previous bloods and scans but the vet said the good news was that although Ozzy had a bleed in his brain, the swelling had gone down and it had healed (w00t) , (no sign of it on the scan) the bad news was that the damage had affected his balance and coordination hence the twitching and shaking :( . So he still has a long way to go and we still have to wait for other blood and spinal tap results. Thanks for your words of encouragement, its really helped me cope. Keep the good vibes coming :huggles:

Tina

Just looked at the letter they gave me and I thought the bill for yesterday was £1.700.00 but when I got my head together (and put my glasses :- " on) I saw the bill including bloods and medication for yesterday came to.............................

£2.140

Poor Ozzy & poor you. It's very distressing having a sick dog and not knowing what's really wrong. I'm so sorry you have to be going through all this, especially with Ozzy being such a young whipper snapper. I hope things start to improve :luck: :luck: Do keep updating us because I now know how much it helps to be able to write it all down (type it all out really) and tell folk about it . :huggles:

I think I need to sit down myself after reading your Vet Bill... (w00t) my god ...are you insured?? hope so after that shock..

:sweating: I am insured or else I wouldnt have been able to have all this specialist stuff done, the bill at my own vet is already over £1,000 :b I would have had to send my OH out to sell his body (w00t) :x :x

:( Quick update on Ozzy today. Still no change with his mobility but the good news is he has actually eaten a meal (w00t) Since last week he has eaten and drunk very little so im taking it as a good sign that he is eating better  Got to ring the vet in Cheshire up on Tuesday for the results of his spinal tap and bloods so please keep your fingers crossed for him :( Sometimes I think yes we can get him through this and other times I look at his little face and he looks so sad....
