Don't encourage him :- "

If it was up to him we'd all be out ratting with our terriers and catching bunnies with our whippets, wearing flat caps, driving old clapped out land rovers and spending the rest of our time fixing the bloody thing :b .

The draw would be so much easier then, the first five to make it to the track after their rover blew-up on the motorway could race each other, then we could wait for the next five to arrive etc.

BWRA Champs are the best place to do an open draw if you ask me - all races are off levels until the run offs and then seeding doesn't count.

I'm sorry but if i had a dog that needed seeding then i wouldn't take any committee's word for it that a draw had taken place, there are breeders and racers on both committee's who by no means would i expect to be unbiased (by doing an open draw they are simply covering their own back - now who wouldn't want to do that).

I should think if you have nothing to hide then doing the draw in public wouldn't be a problem for any race organisers - all i can say to both governing bodies is - no open draw, expect a lot of criticism!!!

There goes me with the death trap / lure problems and re-runs at future opens :- "

Hope you haven't just jinxed ( :- " ) yourself for the champs :sweating:

Nervous yet :x .

Best thing about being in my position, when you've got nothing to win, then you've got nothing to lose.

Saying that look @ me with Connor's Legacy last year, she came across the line first, her name was announced, and I nearly passed out :sweating: .

Vicky you are making it sound as though certain com members are giving themselves easy heats ect...i would like to add that since the new fed com took over..all fed draws have never been done in secret Don,s either used his balls :- " or members stood about have been asked to give numbers out ...at Highgate if the draw has been done in the judges box for convenience theres always been a NNWRF member asked to attend to over see the draw, same applys to a member over seeing the fed coms and works dogs been weighed in first thing

I never mentioned anything about easy heats - but please tell me what weight class that is then i can feed a few of mine up  :- "

Simply giving my opinion Dee and looking at it from a racers point of view not a committee members.

Seeing as though you have been one person this year who has made vested efforts to do public draws at opens held in the North West this year, I think your experiences and opinions are probably the most valuable.

You've not only had dogs entered in those events but took entries, done the handicapping, had 2 kids in tow and took photos and all. Some may also recall at the Gin Pit last year she pulled off the handicap and racing was ready to kick off, 1 hour after taking entries (including timed in peds!)

Ok recognition should also go to Mark for supporting her and the rest of the club for mucking in but she's shown it's workable on more than one occasion now.

So when folk say it's not, I'm sorry but your wrong because one individual has already been doing this succesfully.

I wouldn't mind but I don't think it's overtly unreasonable to have a few regional members to witness the draw, it's hardly an unmanagable mob.

I do so wish people would stop implying that we think there's some sort of corruption going on this is simply not the case. Dobs drew red at the open we held in December, as it was our open I would guarantee that some may have 'thought' ill of the draw but they was unable to because the draw had been done in public. It made me feel better knowing that no-one could possibly imply that someone had done me a favour.

LOOKS LIKE THE NEW RACING MANAGER IS GOING TO BE BUSY.

OPEN DRAW FOR ME EVERY TIME IF IT TAKES A BIT LONGER SO BE IT AND AFTER SAYING THAT I DONT THINK IT WILL MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE TO THE OUTCOME OF THE N/LIMIT CLASS SO THERES MY TIP FOR THE CHAMPS.

Re: Dob's Red trap @ local open.

We've had comments like that too and we have nothing to do with the Committees.

Jessica drew a good heat at an NNWRF event. "Well if I had a pup out of that dog I'd have got an easy draw too" was the comment made to us.

Load of balls ( :- ")of course, if that was the case then there'd be dozens of Viv's Quest - National Champions by now. Simply the fact that the majority of titled dogs out of Sam are Rch disproves this "committee are in it for themselves" theory that some racers seem hell bent on having.

Not that I'm implying Vicky has this opinion of course (I don't want her to give me a bad draw at a North West Open (w00t) ). I'm sure Vicky's opinions could be sadly brought about by the worldly knowledge we all have deep down that given half the chance there are some people out there that would take, take and keep on taking just for their own benefit.

Just as there are those out there that would Moan, Moan and carring on Moaning just to cause unrest and because they have nothing better to do :sweating: .

these matters would have to be proposed at a agm and voted on by the members?? to be imposed am i right???????????

as some members could disagree .

No Elise you've read my post wrong, what I was saying was it gave me reassurance that no-one could say anything because the draw had been public.

DAVIDH , BOTH VICKY AND JACS ARE RIGHT ON THIS MATTER,

IT MAY NOT ALTER THE OUTCOME, BUT IT IS SEEN TO BE FAIR FOR ANY THAT ARE IN DOUBT....... THE NEW FED DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT TILL THERE ANUAL MEETING TO DECIDE...

ANYWAY I HAVE BEING GOING TO THE BEND CHAMPS FOR 11 YEARS, AND I HAVE YET TO SEE TWO FAVOURATES DRAWN IN THE SAME HEAT.....AND IF THE DRAW WAS DONE FAIR OUT OFF THE HAT, THEN .....WHY?

ah so you may get the red box in the second heat maurice.

It's nice to get the trap you want, but a good dog will win its race in either 1,2, or even 3 :- "
