Magical Moments

well done with her elise, glad all went well......

graham who you going for eh!!!. ill tel you now mate ,the sizes now means nothing...good luck with your selection...if i was picking out of them, my prediction and choice would be the red brindle.....but i recon any of them will do.....top blood there... :luck:

Lost the little dog tonight, he had not tried to feed off Blaze since taking some collostrum off her as soon as we were home. He had bottle fed and was swallowing off the syringe but despite this he went downhill. The vet had said that there was one weak puppy when I brought them home but we were all hopefully when he joined in crying and wiggling round the box a few minutes later. I managed to bring him back once and Blaze worked so hard on him licking and pulling but she gave in and I knew there was nothing more to be done for him.

Blaze left him and went back to her other pups who are all thriving and feeding off her like good strong puppies should.

Thanks everyone, the rest of the gang are all doing really well and troughing like good 'uns. Blaze has had her first proper sleep this morning since they were born so she must be feeling a little more relaxed.

I dreamt about a red brindle 40lb bitch the night of the first mating and when the box was brought to me full of wiggling puppies and one was screaming louder and climbing higher than all the others and I saw it was the only red brindle in the litter I just knew she was mine  (soppy or what).

So there she is, whether she makes 40lb or not is another matter but I've seen pups of her birthweight make 37lb and others just 17lb. For now I am quite content to "Follow my Dreams"

Oh Elise, I'm so sorry you've lost a pup, but it's not for want of trying your best, and natures ways are often cruel to be kind , in the long run it's better to lose a weak one now early in life to give the others the best chance . Some little lives aren't viable in any species. Hope Blaze is still recovering from the surgery well. Hope you and your mum have found some human food to eat inbetween pup watching and laundry duties. Take care of yourselves Kxx

Sweet Latte and ice-cream seem to be the ticket Kay, caffeine and sugar all in one go !!! Hope Leo and Riley have not been getting up to too much mischief and Riley has been polite to uncle Billy :teehee: .
