Sorry no reply until this morning but didn't get back from the vets till 8pm :( . Pete very glad to be home and soon settled  his brother was pleased to see him :huggles: . He is on painkillers and antibiotics and has to go back in a week.

The vet said the area where he put the screws in seemed stable but the other side had dropped, there looked like a small break which may have cuased this, he didn't see it before but wondered is it was a week area an if Pete had jumped it might have caused it to give way, so he pushed the bone together :( to encouragew healing and then put in 2 wires. so fingers crossed for the next 4 weeks (thats how long the splint may have to stay on :( :luck: :luck:

Poor old Pete. Glad he's back at home and you can give him lots of attention. Get well soon Pete :huggles:

I hope it is a speedy recovery, as in five weeks we are of to the coast for a holiday 8) , but even if the splint is off exercise will have to be restricted, but at least he can do some walking on the lead, and the sea might help if he will have a swim :) , if splint still on then I will have to bye a ruck sack he can fit in :)

ah, bless!

good luck :luck:

It sounds like he's slowly but surely going to be on the mend then  Sure he will enjoy his hols even if on the lead. :luck: for a speedy recovery At least he safe back home now

Good Luck Pete :luck: and hope hes well enough for your holidays Shane

Thanks for all the well wishes, he is laid next to me on the settee typical whippet legs in the air and a grin on his face. Brother on other settee! :- " O H upstairs :- "

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a ruck sack to carry dogs around in, just in case pete can't do much walking

Hi Shane,

Don't think you will find a ruck sack big enough for a whippet how about something like this  This is an american site but I have seen simular used at dog shows in this country.

Strollers

He's feeling a little better now and enjoying the sun on the patio. His brother is keeping him company whilst he is confined to barracks :- )

Pete's on painkillers and forgets that he has a bad leg sometimes!!! Have to keep a close eye on him but at least he's feeling a lot better. Fingers crossed that his operation works this time. He does hop around keeping his bad leg tucked up as he skips on the other three :)
