Neighbours Dog Chained Up - What Shall I do?

A dog must have access to water and shelter as well as being regularly fed. You could possibly report them to the rspca if they are not fulfilling these needs. You could also complain to the council about the barking being a problem. Point out to them that you have tried to discuss this with...

    My Dogs Are Fighting :(

My advice would be to take her to the vet to rule out any physical cause for this before working on the behaviour. Pain, discomfort or a phantom can cause otherwise happy pets to become aggresive. Good luck. :luck:

    Scratch's Amputation

Can you post a link to your ebay page please? I can't seem to find you on there. :b (BTW, I've a few vid's of my tripod out and about on youtube. Search for "eviemay2" on there if you'd like to see them.)

Bless her. What age is she? They are quick in adjusting after amputation; they put us whimpy humans to shame!

    The Best Barf Books?

I think "Work Wonders" is the most recent. It's a small book with lots of info on the in's and out's of raw feeding. "Raw Meaty Bones" is a bigger book and goes more into details on the problems with commercial dog foods and why we should raw feed our dogs. Both good books, but if you want a...

    Lotions And Potions

Question is, If you glue your fingers to the dog's paw.... Do you go to the Dr or to the vet to get prised apart? Honey is great at helping to heal sores and wounds. Apple Cider Vinegar (get it from a health store, not the pasturised stuff in the supermarket) is great for humans and...

    Looking For Advice

The first thing for them to do is to pop along to the vets incase there is a physical cause for this. The dog can then get treated for any medical problems or refered on to a good behaviourist. I've heard lots of good reports from owners about Jim Greenwood.

    Constipation

In the past I've heard people suggest bran to help firm up stools for dogs with anal gland problems. I've never used it on my dogs either way.

    The Best Barf Books?

Tom Londsdale has two books out that are good. "Raw Meaty Bones" and "Work Wonders". They are more focused on the prey model diet rather than barf. Just a different way of raw feeding (and the one I personally prefer). Hope that helps. EDIT to add link: http://www.rawmeatybones.com/

    National Vaccination Month

http://www.vaccinationmonth.co.uk/ During March 2008 participating vets will provide a free healthcheck and discounted vaccination for dogs over 18months and who haven't been vaccinated in the last 18 months. Cat's and rabbits are also being offered the same, though I'm not sure on the terms...

    Dog Poo As Energy????!!!

I remember working on a private horse yard where the owners were talking of eventually using their muck heap as a form of heating for their house. Makes good sense if the muck heap is already there. Anyone that has worked on farms or with horses will know how much heat comes off that thing...

    Insurance

Shamefully I still haven't sorted out insurance for Willow... and just left Archie's M&S insurance run on despite saying I was going to switch him to a cheaper one with lifetime cover. (Thankfully no ongoing illness or claims as yet; touch wood!) The article you link to is September 05, not...
